In celebration of Martin Luther King Day and Winter Jazzfest’s 2022 “Feel Good” theme, New York City Winter Jazzfest and Moon31 have curated a day to screen, discuss, and engage with Questlove’s directorial debut and award-winning film, Summer of Soul. The film, which explores previously unreleased footage of the Harlem Cultural Festival from nearly 50 years ago, uncovers its significance through a historical and musical lens with interviews of original performing artists, attendees, current-day Harlem residents, and the festival's staff.
