Brunches and lunches in Gramercy just hit different when Paul & Jimmy's is involved. Since 1950, this old-world Southern Italian favorite has been slinging drool-worthy fare from its perch on Irving Place, and after a stunning top-to-bottom renovation, this New York Times-applauded legend is back and brighter than ever.

Grab your $49 pulse (a $103 value) for a 2 Course Brunch For Two that includes 1 Appetizer, 2 Entrees, as well as 2 Cocktails, Glasses of Wine, or Beers from the brunch menu.

Recently taking over from the Azzollini family who had the keys since Cosmo Azzollini bought in 1968, are husband and wife team Vinny & Melanie Russo who trace their family roots to Naples, with deep ties to Monte di Procida. Cosmo's grandson, Executive Chef Greg Azzollini continues to run the kitchen his grandfather built.

And that kitchen is churning out all the sunny Italian brunch staples you'd hope for. Starters keep it classic with crispy Arancini and Calamari Fritti, while mains bring the comfort. Picture Chicken Parm Heroes piled up with a golden chicken cutlet, house tomato sauce, and melted mozzarella, and the Fettuccine Filetto Di Pomodoro that tosses homemade pasta with pancetta, prosciutto, onions, and plum tomatoes for a dish that tastes like a hug from nonna.

Pull up a seat outside, let the sunshine do its thing, and find out why this Gramercy gem is an icon...

Prepare your senses for more than just delicious food. Paul & Jimmy's serves history, and since 1950, they've been doing it with style. This is a Gramercy institution in the truest sense. We're talking a commitment to Southern Italian cooking that hasn't wavered since Cosmo Azzollini first waited tables here before buying the place outright in 1968 — a legacy now carried forward by owners Vinny and Melanie Russo, who trace their own roots to Naples and were regulars here themselves for years before taking over.

Behind the stove is Chef Greg Azzollini, the third generation to take up the culinary mantle, and his résumé reads like a love letter to Italian cooking. Think Institute of Culinary Education, a stint at Lupa Osteria, and further training in Italy before coming home. The result is old-world Southern Italian food made with delish delights like mozzarella made fresh daily and pasta made in-house every day — including several recipes revived from a handwritten cookbook dating back to the restaurant's earliest days, uncovered during a recent renovation.

A major renovation has since given the room a sharper, more elegant note. The retro DNA is still there in the warm lighting, cozy booths, and old-school Italian charm, but it's been given a chic, upgraded finish that reads fresh without erasing seventy-five years of memory. A new sidewalk cafe out front lets you soak up Gramercy's energy while you eat, giving the whole experience a second gear. Settle into a booth inside for that timeless, old-world hush, or grab a table outside and let the neighborhood do the rest.

The New York Times has taken notice, too — Florence Fabricant featured Paul & Jimmy's in her "Off the Menu" column on April 28, 2026, proof that seventy-five years in, this Gramercy institution is still very much worth talking about. Same Paul & Jimmy's. Better than ever. Gramercy's best-kept secret is out.

Ultimately, what really sets Paul & Jimmy's apart is the crowd it keeps. This is a neighborhood spot where regulars have been coming for forty, fifty, sixty years, and where Vinny can often tell a twenty-something what their parents or grandparents used to order. That's not nostalgia marketing. That's just what happens when a restaurant treats its customers like family...

All selections will be made from the restaurant's full brunch menu.
