Endless cocktails crafted with fresh fruit purées will flow as you take in breezy sidewalk seating where the city hums around you. Named after co-founder and Puglia native Lunella Russo, the restaurant’s rich Italian roots are evident in every bite. Today, daughter Rossana Russo - who made history in 2021 as the first female president of the Little Italy Merchants Association - carries the torch.
Kick things off with a gorgeous selection of appetizers that showcase the kitchen’s love for freshness and flair, then choose your main, going classic with Grand Daisy sourdough Avocado Toast topped with sunny side up eggs, or take the Italian route with a perfectly crisp Chicken Paillard crowned with arugula and cherry tomatoes. Founded in 1984 by Puglia-born Lunella Russo and now run by her daughter, Rossana - trailblazer and Little Italy's first-ever female Merchants Association president - Lunella is pure passion on a plate. From the exposed brick walls to the sidewalk tables kissed by sunlight, this place oozes old-school charm and new-school flavor.
Weekend warriors, rejoice, because this is where your brunch cravings are satisfied. The menu is a dance between Italian tradition and traditional brunch indulgence. 3 courses will hit the spot as you relish an appetizer like Arancini Siciliani, aka crispy fried balls of rice made with meat ragù, peas, prosciutto cotto, and mozzarella cheese.
