Building on the structural complexities and narrative experiments of his 2023 feature Asteroid City, Wes Anderson created four short adaptations of Roald Dahl stories for Netflix, of which The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar is the longest. As the actors recite whole pages from the story, Anderson illustrates the action through a series of highly stylized theatrical tableaux that recall the early cinema of Georges Méliès and Segundo de Chomón.
