Beach Rats follows a bored and stifled teenager in South Brooklyn, who has a secret life meeting older men for casual encounters. At the same time, he begins to develop a cautious relationship with a beautiful young girl - until his competing desires come crashing. The Sundance winner could well become this year's Moonlight with its evocative portrayal of a man's sexual becoming.
