Located on Empire Stores’ first floor (just one flight down from our new global headquarters), the shop is not just a testament to west elm’s core values, but a cornerstone of the DUMBO community. Just feet from the East River, our new store is flanked by the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges, with local landmarks—Jane’s Carousel, St. Ann’s Warehouse, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Grimaldi’s Pizza—seconds away. The store’s architecture and design pay reverent homage to its home, incorporating salvaged materials, exposed wood columns and rafters, and a stunning mural of the Brooklyn Bridge, crafted entirely from reclaimed siding and pine. In addition to west elm’s continuously evolving assortment of home furnishings and decor, the shop will also sell a curated collection of goods by regional artisans, handpicked by the west elm LOCAL team. An in-store coffee shop, operated by Brooklyn Roasters, will provide a communal area, perfect for meetings, socializing, and workshops.
