The women’s club movement was formed in the late 19th and early 20th century by pioneering women who provided each other with encouragement and community at a time when they needed it most. By the 1930’s there were over 600 such groups in New York City and over 5,000 nationwide. The Wing was born out of the belief that women need and deserve a multi-purpose space designed to make their lives easier, and that magic is created when women gather together.
