The Friars Club is a private club in New York City, founded in 1904 and famous for its risqué celebrity roasts. The club's membership is composed mostly of comedians and other celebrities. It is located at 57 East 55th Street between Park and Madison Avenues in a building referred to as "the Monastery." If it’s happening at the Friars Club, it’s happening here. Keep up to speed on what’s going on, who’s been out and about at the club and which Friars are performing around town. Though our membership primarily consists of professionals in the entertainment industry, the Friars Club continues to welcome new members from myriad professions. Candidates for membership must be sponsored by two members in good standing. Out of town memberships are available.
