Our story begins in 2009, when Astoria Wine and Spirits opened up in Astoria, Queens as a boutique wine and spirits store. We focused on providing the best, most interesting and affordable wines. But there were two questions we were asked a lot: where can I get good cheeses nearby? Where can I find craft beers around here? After a little research, we found that there wasn’t a full-service cheese shop in Astoria, nor was there a shop dedicated only to craft beers. In early 2010, the idea of Astoria Bier and Cheese was born.
