Opened by a group of NYC-inhabiting Shanghaier who grew up eating and cooking great Shanghainese food, Little Alley is our solution to overdue homesickness, dedicated to recreating the truly exceptional Shanghainese cuisine that we grew up with. Chef Cheung Yuchun, born and raised in one of Shanghai’s little alleys, selected only what he considered the absolute essential Shanghainese dishes and designed a menu that’s Shanghainese through and through. A wooden telephone booth was specially made with a functioning vintage telephone inside so that people can call home whenever they want
