Creative Mex-Californian food with unique aguas frescas & wines in an upbeat, casual space. If Instagram were a restaurant, it would be Lalito. When it opened — as Lalo — in 2016, this small cafe wooed the kind of downtown-creative set that immediately creates buzz. Founding chef Gerardo Gonzalez has left, but Kia Damon’s current menu maintains the original range of influences — Mexico, California, a bit of Damon’s Florida background — to create food that’s best described as “pan-tropical.”
