Gloo is a modern French bistro opened in July 2015 by Christophe Garnier and Constance Hudault. Chef - Owner Christophe Garnier has successfully created and directed a dozen restaurants in France. He decided to move to New York with Constance Hudault, to open a new place and share his passion for food and wines with local new yorkers. He asked a well known designer, Pascale Palun, who had already decorated two of his restaurants in France, to design and create the place. She created two spaces, a warm cozy bar with comfortable antique leather armchairs and the restaurant room with an intimate view onto the West Village. Christophe Garnier is inspired by the eighteen years spent in Provence, creating restaurants in Marseille, Avignon, Châteauneuf-du-Pape... He also created AOC, a restaurant and wine bar in Lyon at Les Halles Paul Bocuse, the famous market of the City of Gastronomy. He still owns this successful restaurant with his partner and friend Dominique Pilastre. The Chef Christophe cooks only fresh seasonal products, sustainable or organic whenever possible. He is constantly seeking the best products. He is also a Sommelier ans selected amazing wines from small winemakers, many of which are organics and biodynamics.
