Damrosch Park
60 Lincoln Center Plaza
Opened in 1969, the Guggenheim Bandshell in Damrosch Park can be found on West 62nd Street, west of the David H. Koch Theater, and between Columbus and Amsterdam Avenues. The Park’s Bandshell stage, set amidst verdant trees and planted flowerbeds, has been the open-air ballroom for New York City’s greatest outdoor dance party, Midsummer Night Swing since 1989, presenting salsa, swing, disco, lindy hop music and more played by dance bands from across the nation and around the world. Damrosch Park is also the site of numerous free concerts in the summer as part of Lincoln Center Out of Doors, with artists like Paul Taylor, Garth Fagan Dance, and Randy Newman performing on its stage. For shoppers, hundreds of juried vendors display their wares during the annual American Crafts Festival in the Park and on Josie Robertson Plaza.
