Cafe Belle
he Scala family has been purveyors of authentic, hand-baked Italian pastries for over 70 years. The business originated in San Paolo Bel Sito, a commune of Naples, by five brothers – Giuseppe, Pasquale, Guido, Orlando and Niccolo.
In 1955, after years of honing their skill, the brothers decided to bring their craft to New York City. There they successfully owned and operated multiple bakeries throughout Brooklyn and Long Island, filling their shops with an array of traditional pastries, cookies, cakes and breads.
In 1985, Paulie - son of Giuseppe - and his wife Lois expanded the business to central New Jersey where they thrived and became a fixture in the community offering the same range of coveted desserts that the Scala brothers had perfected.
Three decades later, the family business is returning to its New York City roots with its latest venture, Café Belle. Owned and operated by Paulie and Lois’ daughter, Noelle, Café Belle will carry on the family legacy and continue to provide people with authentic, traditional and high-quality Italian delicacies.
