Lauren Merkin is founder and CEO of Lauren Merkin Handbags. Lauren’s creative and entrepreneurial nature enabled her to start her own company in the summer of 2002. After completing her MBA, Lauren hand crafted a tote with an old sewing machine and with that tote came an idea. Lauren then created her signature Louise clutch bag and hit the ground running. It was not long before she had landed some big accounts, including Bergdorf Goodman, and had launched an entire collection of extremely popular handbags.

Almost eight years later, Lauren's company continues to grow and can be found at more than 300 boutiques both nationwide and internationally. In addition, she can be found at Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Bloomingdales department stores. Celebrity followers include the likes of Diane Lane, Eva Longoria and Hayden Panettiere.
