A self-proclaimed Museum of Art and Technology, Mercer Labs spans 36,000 square feet of imaginative spaces. Rather than traditional galleries of framed paintings, you’ll wander through 15 distinct environments that bring art to life through digital projection, interactive soundscapes, architectural lighting, robotics, tactile zones, and multi-sensory design.
Each room feels like stepping into a different world, from infinity LED light installations to sound chambers that envelop you in omni-directional audio, and creative play stations that turn your own drawings into 3D animations. Plus, there’s a ball pit and slide, interactive screens with games, robotic art, and Instagram-able moments, like a cave of pink blooms or light rooms that reflect endlessly in mirrors.

Tucked away like a hidden secret, Mercer Labs is one of the city's most buzzed about cultural spots, acting as a place where art, tech, and imagination fully collide. It’s been celebrated by the likes of The New York Times, Forbes, Time Out, and Hypebeast for good reason, and it isn’t a traditional museum, and it’s not trying to be. You’re stepping into environments that surround you, pull you in, and ask you to experience art with your whole body.
At its heart, Mercer Labs is a Museum of Art and Technology spread across 36,000 square feet of layered, interactive spaces. Each room feels like its own world, filled with massive projections, hypnotic light, spatial sound, robotics, and hands-on moments that invite curiosity and play. There’s no fixed path or right way to experience it; you’re encouraged to wander, pause, interact, and get lost for a bit.
The creative mind behind it all is artist Roy Nachum, whose work is all about challenging how we see and connect with one another. Known for using Braille and the recurring image of a child wearing a gold crown over their eyes, Nachum’s art carries themes of humility, equality, and shared humanity. Those ideas aren’t spelled out—they’re felt. Throughout Mercer Labs, his philosophy shows up in subtle, emotional ways that make you slow down and think while you’re surrounded by jaw-dropping visuals.
Mercer Labs was co-created with Michael Cayre, a visionary developer and entrepreneur known for shaping luxury experiences and cultural spaces, including Casa Cipriani and Midtown Equities. His influence is felt in the scale and polish of the space, making everything feel intentional, elevated, and effortless. Together, Nachum and Cayre have created something that feels alive.
