Only a handful of dance makers have transformed the cultural landscape, and perhaps none was as influential and controversial as German choreographer Pina Bausch —"the undisputed Queen of European dance theater" (The Times, London)—who left an indelible mark on the artistic world before her death in 2009. Her famed company returns with Danzón, Bausch's funny, bittersweet meditation on humanity's trek through 20th-century life, named for the lively and passionate Cuban dance form. This will be the show's only US performance.
