2011 Mountain Stage NewSong Contest winner Alligood combines folk, gospel, and raw Southern poetry for his lyrical commentary on the human condition. As the grand prize winner, Alligood was given the opportunity to go into the studio with producer, songwriter, and hitmaker Mikal Blue and create the album “One Silver Needle” on NewSong Recordings label.

The album features an all-star cast of musicians including drum legend Jim Keltner (John Lennon, George Harrison, Bob Dylan), bassist Leland Sklar (James Taylor, Carole King, Jackson Browne) and guitarist Michael Ward (Ben Harper, The Wallflowers).
