The Morris-Jumel Mansion Museum is Manhattan’s oldest residence. This house has witnessed the evolution of northern Manhattan from rural countryside to dynamic multicultural city - as well as the writing of Hamilton, since Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote huge portions while visiting the museum. The museum still remembers and celebrates its colonial roots. Take a break in your summer day to make your own colonial-inspired ice cream. You’ll learn about the history of ice cream making and the different flavors used in the 1700s. Then you’ll make your very own ice cream for your eating pleasure. The lesson is free with your museum admissions, so make a day of it at this historic museum!
