The 3rd Annual Step Up for Fashion on Madison Avenue returns Saturday, September 19, presented by the Madison Avenue Business Improvement District (B.I.D.) in partnership with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), with proceeds benefiting the CFDA Scholarship Fund. The day-long celebration brings together CFDA members, more than 50 leading American and international fashion brands, retailers, students, and the Madison Avenue community for a day devoted to fashion, creativity, and philanthropy. Step Up for Fashion will once again serve as the centerpiece of Welcome Back Saturday, Madison Avenue’s annual celebration of the fall season, spotlighting the exceptional fashion, jewelry, accessories, and boutiques spanning East 57th to East 86th Streets and the surrounding side streets. At the heart of this year’s event is the CFDA Scholarship Fund and the next generation of designers it supports. Throughout Madison Avenue, participating retailers will showcase the work of CFDA Scholarship recipients with in-store displays featuring their sketches and designs, along with select opportunities to meet the emerging designers themselves. Even better, participating retailers will donate 10% of the day’s sales to the CFDA Scholarship Fund. More than 50 brands and boutiques are taking part, including Akris, Alice + Olivia, Altuzarra, Anne Fontaine, Carolina Herrera, Etro, Gabriela Hearst, Giorgio Armani, Jennifer Fisher, Lafayette 148, LoveShackFancy, Max Mara, Michael Kors Collection, Monique Lhuillier, Thom Browne, Todd Snyder, Vera Wang, Veronica Beard, Ulla Johnson, Versace, Vince, Wolford, Zadig & Voltaire, and many more. From 10:00am–6:00pm, Madison Avenue will come alive with special in-store and sidewalk experiences, including informal presentations of fall looks and hospitality carts offering shoppers flowers, beverages, treats, and other surprises throughout the day.
