He was the Wine Director at Aspen's famous Little Nell restaurant for many years and this is where he met Dennis Scholl, an avid wine fan and art collector. The two of them had the idea to marry great wines with more affordable prices, to make food friendly wines of distinct pedigree. And for fun, they'd dip into Scholl's art collection to inspire their labels. This, in short, is the Betts & Scholl wine program. It's been one of our favorite wine world projects for quite a while and we've featured in our own email offerings both the Hermitages and the Grenache O.G.
