DETAILS

In an era before film, Ted Shawn, Ruth St. Denis, Doris Humphrey, and Charles Weidman helped invent American modern dance. These artists were also among the first donors to the NYPL dance archives. For this special program, dancer, researcher, and choreographer Adam Weinert hosts an archive dive, with live performances of long lost early modern dances, silent films, photographs, and commentary.
