Local historian, author & tour guide Lorri Ungaretti presents her new visual history of San Francisco's Sunset District, part of the Then & Now series from Arcadia Publishing. The book pairs vintage and modern-day photographs from archives and private collections to show how the area has changed through the years. Originally federal land outside of San Francisco's boundaries, the Sunset District was developed late due to its distance from downtown and because of the shifting sand dunes that covered it for thousands of years.
