Whiskey, guns and women might as well be our countries anthem. Artist Matthew Henri's Made In America is an artistic survey of the underbelly of an entire nation besieged by vices and besotted by the liberties and freedom granted constitutionally for all men. But if all men are created equal, Henri will exemplify with his imagery the vicious, cruel, and unusual punishments that this just is not the case. Henri will present portraits of bank robbers and wanted posters, prostitutes of the Barbary Coast in San Francisco’s now defunct red light district, old whiskey bottles, railroad ties, public hangings, along with other haunting ephemeral nostalgia.
