Founded in 1987, the first MatzoBall was hosted in Boston. The party was conceived by Andy Rudnick, a young professional who wanted to give his fellow singles something to do other than eat Chinese food on Christmas Eve.
The party was an instant hit, attracting 2,000 individuals in its first year; it has since spread to 20 cities across the country and become a new holiday tradition.
Held in swanky nightclubs and bars, the parties encourage socializing, dancing and drinking. Each event is an opportunity to reunite, network and maybe even spark new romance.
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Mr. Rudnick claimed his event was the source of 1,000 marriages in its first few years. Love really could be waiting for you this Holiday season....
