You will find many of the totems of the nouveau-rustico movement on display at Spasso. With its white-brick exterior and simple, cozy interior, Spasso - on the corner of Hudson and Perry Streets - is a quintessential West Village trattoria. The 65-seat restaurant boasts a beautiful polished, granite bar, while the dining room is accented with natural materials such as reclaimed barn wood.
Owned and operated by Kareem NeJame (ilili, Balaboosta) and Chef Edward Carew (Fiamma, Le Caprice), the offerings are rich with hand-rolled pastas, locally grown vegetables and artisanal meats.
Standard brunch plates are given a unique makeover - such as the ricotta pancakes or baked eggs - while more unusual brunch options include spaghetti cacio e pepe, beef & barley and a smoked salmon that comes with scrambled eggs, mascarpone & chives.
