One of New York's most distinctive and prestigious dance companies, the Dance Theater of Harlem was established by Arthur Mitchell, who made history as the second ever black dancer at NYCB; George Balanchine created his masterpiece Agon on Mitchell and Diana Adams. The storied company will take part in the festivities with a dance workshop, then will be joined by Compañía de Danzas Tradicionales de Cuba JJ for a free performance.
