Join in the celebration as Haleh Liza Gafori recites poems from GOLD, her new book of translations of poems by Rumi, the beloved Persian sage and mystic. Accompanied by special musical guests, she'll sing excerpts of the original Persian text, giving you a glimpse of the astonishing rhythms and rhymes that propel Rumi’s poetry. Plus, poet and host Bob Holman will open the night and DJ Omar Aena will follow Haleh's performance with a set of Middle-Eastern inspired electronic music.
