Filmmaker Mary Murphy’s documentary Hey, Boo: Harper Lee & To Kill a Mockingbird explores the story behind the book and reflects on the significance of its enduring appeal, featuring interviews with Lee’s sister, friends, and admirers, including Oprah Winfrey, Anna Quindlen, Rosanne Cash, Tom Brokaw, and Mary Badham, the actress who portrayed Scout in the 1962 film.
