We were looking for places to watch the Super Bowl, then found out that Socially Superlative has already done a fantastic job of putting a list together! So, here it is:

Super Bowl XLV is coming up this Sunday, February 6th, 2011 – but let’s be honest, do New Yorkers really care since the Jets lost to the Steelers in the AFC championship game? Meh, it should still be entertaining watching two overrated teams pit their stubbornness against one another. And of course there are tons of ways to spend your day drinking and watching the Green Bay Packers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers game!

- And The Murph Guide just in case

Shecky’s list gives us an awesome rundown of Steelers bars (Angels and Kings, Irish Exit) versus Packers bars (Kettle of Fish), all-you-can-drink packages (The Three Monkeys, Bowlmor, and of course SNAP Sports Bar, foodie spots with “classier” bar food (Southern Hospitality, Fatty ‘Cue), and venues with drink specials (Bohemian Beer Garden, Traffic Bar) for all your cheap bastards out there.

The MurphGuide Super Bowl party list comes through with their list of bars by neighhorhood. Start the day early at Libation in the Lower East Side with their $19 brunch that comes with three drinks. Central Bar is my East Village pick with 2-for-1 burger specials. The Upper East Side is going to be swarming with football fanatics, and The East End will be no different especially with their $35 open bar option beginning at 6:00 PM. And wherever you are, there’s likely to be a Village Pourhouse nearby, at least a cab drive away.

Joonbug tells us to check out Standings, where no pesky music will be playing to distract us from the game. For people that get easily distracted, Mason Dixon has a mechanical bull where you can prove that football has nothing on the rodeo scene. For the highbrow folk, Urban Daddy‘s got you covered. For those who equate football with pigskin, the Macao Trading Co. is serving up some tender pork belly while Lyon Bouchon Moderne will serve you a whole suckling pig. Bar Basque at the Eventi Hotel will show the game from their ginormo screens, or you can opt for the theater-style seating at the Tribeca Grand Hotel.
