More than 3 million New York City residents experienced difficulty affording food in 2010, which is why America's egg farmers will also be donating 100,000 eggs on February 9, to the Food Bank of New York City, the largest food bank in the metropolitan area. The food bank serves more than 1,000 community-based member programs and helps to provide 400,000 free meals a day for New Yorkers in need.
